3. Léo and the Poppies, 2023. Lake Washington, Seattle, WA. I think we were doing my laundry. We picked the most vibrant poppies from someone’s yard. Everything else was green that day.
4. Kelly and Maggie, 2022. On the Street Somewhere, Seattle, WA. We stayed up all night for Pride. Waiting for our pizzas. The light was so warm. Our friends were climbing trees on the other side of the street.
5. Eliza and Lane, 2023. Eliza’s Apartment, Seattle, WA. Eliza and I cooked dinner for Lane. I made them both stand in the red light from the forest fires before we ate. The whole house smelled like pasta.
6. Cece and Mo, 2023. Cece, Ry, and Mo’s house, Burien, WA. Mo was 6 months old. Such a contemplative, patient, curious kiddo. I can’t wait to learn what they think about this world.

8.Venus and Butter, 2021. The Lake Washington House, Seattle, WA. Calvin and Markel’s going away party. There was always a cat around. One time Butter left a single, disembodied bird heart on the carpet for us. Venus matched the blooms as usual.
CENTER TITLES & NARRATIVES
1. Markel in the River, 2021. Skykomish, WA.
2. Ryder in My Bed, 2021. Cameron’s Place on Weller, Seattle, WA. Coffee in bed. Pretty sure we didn’t sleep.
3. Morning on 23rd and Madison (Arden), 2022. Arden’s Apartment, Seattle, WA.
4. First Shower After Surgery, 2023. Andrew and Sofya’s Bathroom, Seattle, WA. Jax and I set up the tripod in the bathroom. They helped me get undressed and washed my hair for me. I was so uncomfortable. I was so grateful.
5. Breakfast, 2023. Cameron’s Place on Weller, Seattle, WA. Right before my surgery. Exhausted. Those potatoes went cold because I couldn’t stop taking photos. The patch of light went away quickly. I was ready to stop hunching over so much.
6.Self-Portrait in the Bath, 2022. Cameron’s Place on Weller, Seattle, WA. The lens fogged up after this. My tits were huge.
7. Me and Eliza After Surgery, 2023. Eliza’s Apartment, Seattle, WA. A few hours post-op. Still so high on anesthesia. I took about 200 photographs that day. The first thing I asked for when I woke up was pudding. Most of recovery was not so smooth.
8. Self-Portrait Brushing Hair, 2023. Cameron’s Apartment, Seattle, WA. Doing my best to untangle.
9. Em in the Water II, 2023. Seward Park, Seattle, WA. There’s just something about that water droplet.
10. Mortality Hallucination (at the lodge), 2023. The Lodge, Somewhere between the desert and the ocean, WA. Elri and Ro in the morning. Night? Afternoon? Timeless stretch of edible air, fragmented visuals and massive technicolor bubbles. Four days of brief embraces like this, and a straight line of charcoal up the ridge from the fire in 2021.
11. Shot Day, 2023. Eliza’s Apartment, Seattle, WA.
12. Jenna and the Soup of Our Own Making, 2024. Seward Park, Seattle, WA. A collaboration with Jenna Eady. Joyful dancing. Getting soaked by the rain. Lots of reflections in puddles.
13. Calvin and Markel’s Hands, 2021. The Lake Washington House, Seattle, WA. Before Calvin and Markel Moved.
14. Sofya and Lou, 2023. Andrew and Sofya’s House, Seattle, WA. We all met up to taste test cocktails for a friend’s wedding. Everyone was in town that had moved away. Sofya and I both miss them all so much—it hasn’t been the same since they all moved away. Lou was here from Berlin. I drove them home in my ‘94 Volvo with the green flames. During the wedding, we swapped spit and kicked around the dry brush to find a wet spot of dirt to put our cigs out in. We were like teenagers.
15. The Kiss, 2023. Andrew and Sofya’s House, Seattle, WA. Andrew and Sofya are in love. I made them kiss in the gold light.
16. Carapace, 2022 Cameron’s Place on Weller, Seattle, WA.
17. Headlights, 2023. Lopez Island, WA. Eliza in the headlights of their Prius. This trip was so stormy. We found a sheep with overgrown horns, a cemetery like the ones in Massachusetts, and a lot of skipping rocks. Two crows perched on a cow-feed bucket while the cow ate. Eliza asked me repeatedly if I was watching while they launched stones into the water. I watched women’s soccer for the first time. It felt like my eyelids were half-shut the whole time, but I think it was mostly the weather.
18. Electricity, 2023. Maggie and Cecil’s House, Seattle, WA. Karl, Maggie, and Esra. Don’t try this at home, kids.
19. Ari in the Water I, 2023. Seward Park, Seattle, WA. We walked the length of the park and found all the warm spots of light. Ari warmed up to the camera. We yelled at a creepy man shortly thereafter. I hope we continue to be the loudest people in the park for years to come.
20. Sarah Habeck, Will You Marry Me? 2021. Hobuck, WA (Makah Land). Sarah and I tasted the salt in the air and decided to get married. I am not sure how many times I licked her teeth. I learned that gooseneck barnacles are edible. It was always a little too cold on that trip. I was afraid of driving, still. We broke up a few months after she visited.
21. Bengi and Ari in the Water House, 2023. Phil’s Parents’ House, Whidbey, WA. I caught them in the golden hour. Proof of ‘four drunk uncles’ day. Later we held a dead snake and hay for the sheep. Bengi and I found a strange fish floating belly-up. I’ve never seen anything like it. My phone died. Ari sent a raven for us when we stayed out too long.
RIGHT TITLES & NARRATIVES
1. Wax Figure, 2024. Cameron’s Apartment, Seattle, WA. KEMC in my bathtub.
2. Heaven or Las Vegas (river’s hand), 2022. Vashon, WA. Beachcombing during the dry season. All the beaches looked like the moon. It made sense for River to be on the moon. Maybe that’s where we met.
3. Reflection, 2021. Ryder’s Apartment, Renton, WA. After I got back from California. We fucked a lot. Ryder never quite seemed moved in to his place. Sometimes it smelled like sweetgrass or coffee. It was brighter and louder at night than in the daytime on that corner. Something romantic in that.
4. Leo, Kelly, and Some Moisturizer, 2022. Seaview, WA. We all went on vacation together. They love each other so much. The day after this, we heard about the shootings in Colorado. We were heartbroken and lucky to be together.
5. Tuff (Arden), 2023. Somewhere on Lake Washington, Seattle, WA. Arden picked up that dead fish. It was funny. I got a little sunburnt. I learned that those little fish all die at the same time every year after they fuck and lay their eggs.
6. Liese and their Gloves, 2023 Somewhere in North Seattle, WA.
7. Anic and Quique, 2023. Quique and Anic’s House, The Swamp, Vashon, WA. Sleepy times with the wood fired stove and light at its winter angle. We probably drank Gatorade and smoked cigs and danced after this. We definitely made bird calls and howled with Oso.
8. LM in the Golden Light, 2023. LM and Audj’s House, Seattle, WA. LM getting dressed for a party. Looking stunning as always.
