living eulogies is an ongoing, mixed-media & oral history project focusing on individual trans people’s relationships with death/dying, transformation, and living memory.

the project is inspired by a brief passage in david wojnarowicz’s book, Close to the Knives, where he mentions making death masks with a friend in the height of the HIV/AIDS crisis. this and numerous other queer-historical works underpin living eulogies, which intends to use interviews and mixed-media work to open the door to living remembrance (or life mask) in a fractured set of communities that, by virtue of lived experience and external forces, touch the veil every day.

living eulogies is a several-year project, beginning with intensive queer historical research. the living eulogies project is now in the interview stage, and will progress to the art-making stage in fall 2026.
